Road Trip Bingo Card Generator

Pick the route and the age. Every kid gets a different card.

Published Oct 29, 2026

Printable road trip bingo cards built for the route you're driving and the age in the back seat. Highway, city, beach, mountains. A different card per kid, because one card between two kids is a fight with a crayon in it. Picture cards for the ones who can't read yet. Free PDF, prints two to a page.

How to use it

  1. Pick the route you're driving, the ages in the back seat, and how many cards (one per kid).
  2. Hit "Make the cards." Every card has the same squares in a different order, so nobody can copy.
  3. Hit "Print the cards." They print two to a page. A clipboard or a hardback book makes a good desk.
  4. Hand out cards and crayons before you leave the driveway, not on the highway.

How to Play Road Trip Bingo

Each kid gets a card. When they spot something on their card out the window, they mark it. The first to get five in a row, across, down or corner to corner, shouts "Bingo!" The middle square is free. Still a long way to go? Keep playing for a blackout card.

Squares count when one person sees them and calls them out, so the driver isn't the referee. Somebody else in the front seat can be. If two kids spot the same cow, they both get it. It's a big enough cow.

Example Road Trip Bingo Card (Highway, Ages 5-7)

This is one of the two cards the generator starts from: 24 highway squares and a free snack square in the middle. Print it as-is if you're leaving in ten minutes.

Road Trip Bingo Ideas: The Item Bank

Sixty squares, ten per route, if you'd rather make the card by hand. Mix in a few from "Anywhere" so every card has some easy wins.

  • โ€ขHighway: semi truck, car towing a camper, overpass, rest stop sign, exit sign, mile marker, bridge, cows in a field, motorcycle, car with a bike rack.
  • โ€ขCity: taxi, crosswalk, traffic light, bus, food truck, skyscraper, someone walking a dog, statue, construction crane, delivery van.
  • โ€ขBeach: sailboat, seagull, surfboard on a car, lifeguard tower, beach umbrella, pier, palm tree, boat on a trailer, flip-flops sign, ice cream shop.
  • โ€ขMountains: tunnel, waterfall, snowy peak, pine tree forest, deer crossing sign, cabin, lake, hiker, chairlift, winding road sign.
  • โ€ขFarm country: tractor, barn, horse, sheep, hay bales, windmill, silo, fruit stand, cornfield, scarecrow.
  • โ€ขAnywhere: red car, yellow car, dog in a car, airplane, stop sign, gas station, school bus, someone waving, cloud shaped like an animal, flag.

Road Trip Games for Kids That Don't Need a Screen

Bingo goes first because it lasts the longest. When the cards are full, here are eleven more that need nothing but voices and a window.

  • โ€ขRoad trip bingo: the cards above, one per kid.
  • โ€ขI spy: "I spy with my little eye something blue." For little kids, use colors. For older kids, use first letters.
  • โ€ขThe license plate game: find plates from as many states as you can. Keep a running list on the back of the bingo card.
  • โ€ขThe alphabet game: find each letter A to Z, in order, on signs and trucks. Q is the hard one.
  • โ€ข20 questions: one person thinks of an animal, everyone else gets 20 yes-or-no questions.
  • โ€ขWould you rather: read questions off a printed list and make everyone explain their answer.
  • โ€ขCow counting: each side of the car counts cows on their side. Most cows by the next town wins.
  • โ€ขStory chain: each person adds one sentence to the same story. It goes off the rails fast. That's the point.
  • โ€ขName that tune: someone hums, everyone else guesses the song.
  • โ€ขCar colors: everyone picks a color, then counts cars that color for ten minutes.
  • โ€ขFortunately, unfortunately: take turns adding to a story, alternating good news and bad news.
  • โ€ขThe quiet game: whoever stays quiet longest wins. Works for about ninety seconds. Those are good seconds.

Road Trip Bingo for Adults

Pick "Adults" and the squares get pickier and funnier. Good for a couples' road trip, a car full of teenagers, or the grown-ups in the front seat once the kids are asleep. Ten squares to start you off:

  • โ€ขSomeone singing alone in their car
  • โ€ขA car packed to the roof
  • โ€ขA dog with its head out the window
  • โ€ขA "just married" car
  • โ€ขA license plate from more than 1,000 miles away
  • โ€ขA car with a roof box and a bike rack
  • โ€ขA bumper sticker you actually agree with
  • โ€ขA rest stop with a vending machine that works
  • โ€ขA billboard for a lawyer
  • โ€ขSomeone taking a photo at a scenic overlook

Picture Cards for Kids Who Can't Read Yet

Pick "3-4 (pictures)" and every square gets a big picture with the word underneath, so a three-year-old can play without anyone reading the card to them. The squares are kept to things a toddler already knows: a cow, a truck, a bus, a tree.

At this age, play to one line, not blackout. Let them mark squares with stickers instead of a crayon if you have them. And count "I saw a truck" as a truck even if you didn't see it. Nobody's checking.

Tips

One card per kid, always

One card shared between two kids isn't a game. It's a custody dispute with a crayon in it.

Crayon, not marker

Markers lose their caps under the seat and end up on the upholstery. Crayons don't dry out and can't bleed through.

The free square is a snack

The middle square says "FREE: snack." Honor it. It buys you twenty minutes.

Do the bingo ceremony

When someone gets a line, they shout it and everyone cheers. They want the moment more than the prize. Give them the moment.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do you play road trip bingo?

Each player gets a card. Spot something on your card out the window, mark it. First to get five in a row (across, down or diagonal) shouts "Bingo!" The middle square is free.

What age is road trip bingo for?

From about three with picture cards, up to adults with the adult squares. Pick the age above and the squares change to match.

Can I print more than one card?

Yes. Pick up to four cards and each one has the squares in a different order, so siblings can't copy. They print two to a page.
